Plants & People is a small plant shop focusing on the care and trade of flora for both interior and exterior decoration. This project consisted in designing a website displaying their plants as well as the tools and advice for gardening, and aims to appeal to the younger generation.

Logo sketches
Brief
In digital design class, we were assigned to design a website for a plant shop that would display the plants as well as gardening tools and plant-care tips, without making it a selling website.
Creative Process
Background
Being part of the target audience (youth) and not having any particular interest or experience in gardening or taking care of plants, I attempted to design this website in a way that even people like me would be attracted to the shop. The research phase that followed allowed me to study this field further.

Design Thinking
"Plants & People" was the name included in the brief inside the email address to use for the website, so I used it in order to build a brand that deals both with plants (the different kinds provided) and people (the owners of the plants and what they need to do).
Challenges
The main challenge encountered in this project was getting acquainted with the software Figma, as it was my first time using it. Making sure everything was in place and utilizing the functions provided fell into this category.

Final Outcome
Favorite Details
A detail I believe adds to the overall design is the merging of gradient colors in the background along with photographs peeking through the colors. The originality of the background and the pops of color were not found in competitors' plant websites and attract the enthusiastic youth while giving the shop a personality.
The logo also presents a unique proposal, as it is designed to be interpreted as two plants and a sun, two "p" letters, or a human figure, therefore covering all aspects of the shop.

Lessons Learned
A new software may take more time to accommodate to, so it is always wise to reserve some time for experimenting and learning the tools at hand in the beginning of a project.
Future Paths
Designing the UX/UI part of a website for the first time made me eager to start designing the website for my personal business Tinartsy, where I would be able to deliver my brand's purpose, showcase my work and make sales.
